The conference venue will be at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), one of the strongest universities in Spain, specialised in the fields of engineering, science, and architecture. The university is distributed along 8 campus, three of them in Barcelona and the others in Terrassa, Castelldefels, Vilanova, Sant Cugat and Manresa. Its main campus is the Campus Nord, where the conference would take place. The Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB) is the school in charge of the Computer Science studies. Currently, it has about 2,000 bachelor and master students (PhD students are associated to the University departments). The FIB is located in Campus Nord, and so are the main departments doing teaching and research in Computer Science: the Department of Computer Architecture and the Department of Computer Science.
The campus also includes the Barcelona Supercomputer Center, which manages the MareNostrum, located at the Torre Girona chapel, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and, according to IEEE Spectrum, the world’s most beautiful computing machine.
